Slovenian Scientists Visit Pharmasaga to Explore Collaboration Opportunities!

10/30/2026

How can a Taiwan-developed diabetes drug connect with European research expertise? 🔬

Pharmasaga (TPEx Emerging: 7878) was honored to host an academic visit from Slovenia:
👩‍🔬 Prof. Irena Vovk | National Institute of Chemistry
An expert in analytical chemistry and chromatographic separation, with expertise in HPLC and LC-MS. Potential collaboration includes pharmaceutical analysis, quality characterization, stability studies, and bioanalytical methods for PS1 and other drug candidates.

👩‍🎓 Maja Bensa | University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Health Sciences
Her research focuses on bioactive food compounds, food chemistry, and food safety. Her expertise offers opportunities to explore interdisciplinary research in oxidative stress, metabolic health, and diabetes-related mechanisms.

🏛️ Mr. Marko Prost | Municipality of Nova Gorica
His participation opens opportunities to connect European academic institutions, biotechnology industries, and international research networks.

During the visit, Dr. Wen-Chin Yang, Chairman of Pharmasaga, introduced PS1's scientific rationale, Phase I clinical trial progress, and Phase II development plans.
PS1 is an investigational small-molecule PDIA4 inhibitor designed to reduce oxidative stress and protect pancreatic β-cell function and survival, exploring a new therapeutic approach to diabetes.

💡 From pharmaceutical analysis to metabolic health, this visit highlighted exciting opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Pharmasaga looks forward to connecting with European partners and advancing innovative diabetes research together!

Thank you to our Slovenian guests for visiting us! 🌍
